The office of the Financial Commissioner (Ombudsman) was established and operates under the Establishment and Operation of the Single Body for Out-of-Court Resolution of Financial Disputes Law of 2010 (84(I)/2010), as amended or replaced from time to time.
Since November 2019, the Body is considered an Alternative Dispute Resolution Body.
The Office of the Financial Ombudsman was established in July 2013 and in December 2014 began accepting applications for the appointment of an Ombudsman. In February 2015, the Financial Commissioner began accepting consumer complaints against financial institutions.
